Habitat: Moist prairie and calcareous fen, never plowed, probably lightly grazed. Silphium terebinthinaceum abundant; Pycnanthemum virginianum, Solidago riddelli, Spartina pectinata, Polygonum amphibium, Stachys hispida, Cirsium discolor, Veronicastrum vir., Calamagrostis canadensis, Eupatorium maculatum, E. perfoliatum, Rumex orbiculatus, Impatiens capensis, Asclepias incarnata, Oxypolis rigidior, Anemone canadensis, Helenium autumnale, Cirsium muticum, Cicuta maculata, Lythrum alatum, Cornus racemosa.
