Habitat: Southern dry-mesic forest on SSE-facing slope on point above river; canopy formerly Q. rubra-Q. alba, cut decades ago and succeeding to Acer saccharum-Ostrya virginiana-Carya cordiformis; shrub layer: Carya cordiformis saplings, Corylus americana; groundlayer: Brachyelytrum erectum, Circaea lutetiana ssp. canadensis, Desmodium glutinosum, Dioscorea villosa, Eupatorium purpureum, Festuca subverticillata, Geum canadense, Smilacina racemosa, & Symphyotrichum shortii.
Notes: Clumped, 14 stems, of which 3 were fertile.
