Thicket-covered field; poor dry soil (light brown, looose, fine, sandy, low in organic matter). In slightly open center of huge Robinia hispida colony; assoc.: Poa pratensis-overwhelming dominant, with Bromus inermis, Dactylis glomerata, and a few plants each of Galium aparine, Hackelia virginiana, and Urtica dioica.
