Formerly cultivated (up to ca. 60 yrs. ago) wetland overlying hidden spring source and tiny W-flowing streamlet, supporting semi-natural sedge meadow-calcareous wet prairie intergradient community; rich dense vegetation, sedge dominated but not very tussocky and full of herbs. Assoc.: Aster firmus, Carex interior, C. stricta, Cornus stolonifera, Equisetum arvense, Euthamia graminifolia, Eutrochium maculatum, Juncus torreyi (scarce), Lycopus americanus, L. uniflorus, Muhlenbergia mexicana, Pycnanthemum virginianum, Solidago gigantea, & Typha angustifolia. (Possibly a shrub carr pre-management, burned off by hot fires?)
