Habitat:
Tall outcrops of a limestone escarpment bordering a broad limestone shelf along the modern shoreline. Often with wet local depressions, fissures and cracks. Low flats, like a tidal estuary with pools of standing water and covered with vegetation (50-75% cover). Deschampsia abundant. Calamagrostis stricta infrequent to rare, about 1 m diameter in area.
