Habitat: Mountain, a monadnock of Pre-Cambrian Keweenawan igneous rock, the largest outcrop in forest. Deciduous woods and thickets of several kinds, usually dry but occasionally with moist spots or stands, on rocky hillsides and summit. Habitat information for Cochrane 11167-11170: In moist rocky seepage spot in Quercus borealis-Acer rubum woods, with Panicum latifolium, Glyceria striata, Carex tenera, C. aenea, Potentilla simplex, Amphicarpa bracteata, Lysimachia quadrifolia.
