Habitat: In both lane and forest understory. Northern mesic forest: Acer saccharum (1 dom.)-Fagus grandifolia (2 dom.) with Betula papyrifera and Abies balsamea. Associated species for Cochrane & Cochrane 11152-11157: Carex projecta, C. lanuginosa, C. deweyana, Rubus pubescens, Viburnum opulus ssp. trilobum, Lysimachia ciliata, Vitis riparia.
