Habitat: Excellent bluff prairie along hwy. Prairie on lower bluff slopes, with few weeds, some rare plants, such as Psoralea esculenta, Artemisia frigida, A. dracunculoides, Muhlenbergia cuspidata, Eupatorium altissimum. Additional species in association with Hansen et al. 4037: Excellent, large calcareous bluff prairie below massive limestone cliffs. With Artemisia ludoviciana, A. caudata, Solidago nemoralis, S. rigida, S. speciosa, Equiestum hyemale, Gnaphalium obtusifolium, Euphorbia corollata, Andropogon scoparius, A. gerardii, Liatris aspera, L. cylindracea, Linum sulcatum, Eragrostis spectabilis, Helianthus rigidus, Asclepias verticillata, Bouteloua curtipendula, Petalostemum purpureum, Psoralea esculenta, Aster azureus, A. sericeus, A. ericoides, A. oblongifolius, Amorpha canescens, Sorghastrum nutans, Kuhnia eupatorioides. Also with encroaching Rhus glabra, Juglans cinerea, Physocarpus opulifolius, Prunus virginiana, Celastrus scandens, Populus tremuloides around edges.
