Habitat: Top of very naroow ridge with a series of calcareous capped sandstone castles and pinnacles. Surrounding woods young, grazed, with Acer saccharum on E facing slope and Juglens cineria, Celtis occidentalis on W facing slope. Scattered large Pinus strobus, and some Tsuga canadensis on the cooler NE facing slope. With Tilia americana, Acer saccharum.
