Habitat: NW facing Cambrian sandstone cliffs above creek. Damp cool lower part of the cliff, shaded by Tsuga canadensis, (with Pinus strobus, P. resinosa, higher up). Large dense colonies of Bryoxiphium norvegicum, Tetraphis pellucida, Mnium punctatum, Sullivantia renifolia, Acer spicatum, Dryopteris phegopteris, Lepraria. Common on cliffs.
