Habitat: In partial sun growing on a raised peat and sphagnum mound in a fen. Associates include Lycopus americus, Campanula aparinoides, Carex stricta, Galium triflorum, Eupatorium maculatum, Scutellaria galericulata, Pedicularis lanceolata, Eupatorium perfolium, Rumex orbiculata, Impatiens capensis, Carex hystericina, Eleocharis erythropoda, Cornus stolonifera, and Scirpus atrovirens.
