Habitat:
Calcareous sedge meadow. Growing in damp, peaty soil in full sun, within 10 m of the upland oak savanna. Associates include: Caltha palustris, Thalictrum dasycarpum, Cardamine bulbosa, Cirisium muticum, Potentilla fruticosa, Carex lanuginosa, Thelypteris palustris, Carex stricta, and Smilicina stellata.
