Habitat: Dryish, heavily disturbed sedge meadow (no tussock forming Carices) on sand with huge ant mounds, now the border of a white spruce nursery. Assoc. Agrostis scabra, A. gigantea, Panicum boreale, Spartina pectinata, Carex scoparia, Scirpus cyperinus, Juncus canadensis, J. brevicaudatus, Aletris. Additional associates for Cochrane & Cochrane 7364-7375: Carex 7365, Carex 7367, Carex 7368, Populus tremuloides seedlings, Salix humilis, Betula papyrifera seedlings, Comandra umbellata, Potentilla simplex, Prunus serotina seedlings, Rubus pubescens, R. setosus, Spiraea alba, S. tomentosa, Polygala sanguinea, Hypericum kalmianum, Oenothera perennis, Vaccinium angustifolium, Bartonia virginica, Asclepias hirtella, Lycopus uniflorus, Pedicularis canadensis, Campanula aparinoides, Liatris pycnostachya, Rudbeckia hirta, Solidago graminifolia, S. gymnospermoides.
