Habitat: Upland Forest on the E side of the Brule River and just W of Len Root Road. Growing in Boreal Forest with Abies balsamea, Acer rubrum, Picea glauca, Populus tremuloides, Aralia nudicaulis, Cornus sericea, Crataegus chrysocarpus, Lonicera canadensis, Salix humilis, Viburnum rafinesquianum, Anemone quinquefolia, Antennaria parlini, Carex pedunculata, Luzula acuminata, Mitchella repens, Trientalis borealis, Viola labradorica, etc.
Notes: Analysis of the Vegetative Cover of the Brule River Watershed, Revisited 2015-2018. Carex growing in clumps in open area along edge of woods.
