Habitat:
Northern mesic forest on undulating pockmarked ground along side of river. Acer saccharum dominant, with ample Betula papyrifera, some Tsuga canadensis, very little Pinus strobus. Field notes for Cochrane & Cochrane 7542. Understory depauperate, but some associates are present: Oryzopsis asperifolia, Carex arctata, Clintonia borealis, Actaea rubra, Dirca palustris, Pyrola elliptica, and Diervilla lonicera.
