Habitat: Swale with little ground cover under Acer saccharinum, Betula nigra, thicket of Cephalanthus occidentalis. With Carex muskingumensis, Leersia lenticularis, Onoclea sensibilis. Large complex of mostly little disturbed river bottomland, ranging from floodplain forest of Acer saccharinum, Quercus bicolor, Lobelia cardinalis, to drier sandy openings with many prairie species, Andropogon gerardii, Panicum virgatum, Ambrosia artemisiifolia.
