Habitat:
A poor fen occurs in a drainageway just N of hwy. The fen is dominated by Larix laricina in the tree layer and Sphagnum sp. in the herb layer. The soil here is a peat. Eriophorum virginicum had tawny colored bristles. It was associated with Menyanthes trifoliata, Sarracenia purpurea and Scheuchzeria palustris.
