Habitat: Cold spring-fed calcareous(?) seppage bogs and meadows in wet Thuja occidentalis-Populus spp., Acer spp. woods, on N-facing slope. A.) Extensive Thuja woods, more or less dense shade with Tsuga canadensis, Abies balsamea, Picea glauca, Acer spicatum, Rubus parviflora, Ledum groenlandicum, Vaccinium oxycoccus (rare), Dentaria diphylla, Mertensia paniculata. And B.) Wet open sedge meadows, springs and streamsides, seepage bog in Thuja woods. With Mertensia paniculata, Carex flava flava, C. leptalea, C. aurea, C. stipata, C. interior, Equisetum scirpoides, E. arvense boreale, E. sylvaticum, Chrysosplenium americanum, Ribes lacustre, Smilacina trifolia, Stellaria calycantha isophylla, Rhamnus alnifolius, Caltha palustris, Veronica americana, Chelone glabra, Habenaria spp., etc.
