Habitat: Betula papyrifera (1 dom.)--B. alleghaniensis (2 dom.) swamp, with Acer spicatum, Taxus canadensis, Abies balsamea on uneven ground with large moss cushions & small intermittent pools; assoc.: Lycopodium annotinum, L. obscurum v. dendroideum, Dryopteris spinulosa, Thelypteris phegopteris, Carex arctata, C. brunnescens, Clintonia borealis.
