Habitat: Rotting moss-covered logs and intermittent pools; uneven floor of Thuja occidentalis swamp, with Acer rubrum, Betula alleghaniensis, B. papyrifera & Abies balsamea. Ground layer Carex dominated, with Lycopodium obscurum var. dendroideum, L. annotinum, Dryopteris spinulosa, s.l., Carex trisperma, C. crinita var. crinita, C. intumescens, C. stipata, C. projecta, Clintonia borealis, Trientalis borealis, Petasites frigidus.
