Habitat: Dry mesic hardwoods (Quercus borealis-Acer saccharum, with Celtis occidentalis & Quercus muhlenbrgii); lower steep W-facing slope, pastured, with Nepeta cataria, Galiumaparine & Ellisia nyctelea. Also seen higher up in undisturbed woods with Dirca palustris, Arisaema triphyllum, Dicentra cucullaria, Mertensia virginica & Impatiens sp.; also seen on open grassy, thickety RR embankment top with Smilax herbacea, Rubus sp., Urtica dioica, Menispermum canadense, & Monarda fistulosa.
