Habitat: Southern mesic forest (Acer saccharum dominant, with (in decreasing order of importance) Tilia americana, Quercus borealis, Ostrya virginiana, Ulmus rubra, Fraxinus americana, Carya cordiformis), with carpets of spring flowers and canopy trees of medium age. Good quality 60-acre stand over late Cambrian (not quartzite) formations.
