Habitat: Low forest of Betula nigra, Salix spp., Acer saccharinum, along a backwater of the river. Near water's edge, with Rubus sp., Toxicodendron radicans, Cornus stolonifera, Lonicera sp. (shrubby), Rhus glabra, Pilea pumila, Arisaema dracontium. Under Salix sp., Betula nigra. Solitary and rhizomatous, in sandy soil.
