Habitat: Abandoned railroad right-of-way, grassy but becoming much overgrown by saplings of Ulmus americana, U. rubra, Quercus macrocarpa, Q. velutina, Prunus serotina. Mostly weedy with Poa, Bromus inermis, Agropyron repens, etc., but with a few prairie plants such as Andropogon gerardii, Sorghastrum nutans, Silphium terebinthinaceum, Silphium integrifolium.
