Habitat: Sand prairie; assoc.: Anemone cylindrica, Antennaria plantaginifolia var. plantaginifolia, Carex muhlenbergii, Hypericum perforatum, Lithospermum incisum, Panicum oligosanthes var. scribnerianum, Physalis virginiana, Poa pratensis, Tragopogon dubius. E-W lying ridge of Upper Cambrian (= St. Croixan) sandstone supporting sand prairies, Quercus alba savannas, and recovering old fields. A few thousand Cirsium flodmanii plants scattered on sand prairies on the property.
