Medium-good stand of mixed deciduous hardwoods on level ground; thin Miami silt loam overlying Niagara dolomite just back from escarpment. Acer saccharum-Quercus borealis woods w/ Ulmus rubra, Ostrya virginiana, Prunus serotina, Juglans cinerea, more mesic at the escarpment, w/ Betula papyrifera & Taxus canadensis, drier back away from the escarpment, w/ Quercus alba. Grassy, partly overgrown, dry opening. Assoc.: Arabis drummondii, Monarda fistulosa, Galium concinnum, Carex 7573.
