Habitat: Abandoned agricultural field, growing amidst lichen mats of Cladina mitis and Cladina rangiferina with other lichens (Cladonia phyllophora, Cladonia rei) and spikemoss (Selaginella rupestris), also with (all sparse) Ambrosia artemisiifolia, Carex sp., Convolvulus sp., Festuca sp., Monarda sp., Panicum sp., Physalis heterophylla, Salvia sp.[?], Stipa spartea, and Tephrosia virginiana.
