Habitat:
Semi-open community on wet non-acidic peat, in ways resembling a conifer swamp (Larix laricina the aspect dominant, Rhus vernix present), in other ways a wet prairie (densely grassy, w/ Calamagrostis canadensis dominant; Carex stricta present but not forming tussocks), but the prevalent groundlayer species a combination of those found on a sedge meadow & shrub-carr.
