Habitat:
Small mostly unshaded ledge near base of cliff. Massive, mostly bare Cambrian sandstone cliffs above river. A thick stand of Tsuga canadensis covers the top of the cliffs, lowland pasture at base. The cliffs are mostly bare rock. With Betula lutea, Carpinus caroliniana, Corydalis sempervirens.
