Habitat: Fine stand upland hardwoods, bumpy-hilly rolling glacial topograhpy; Miami loam soil (10 inches gray-brown loam on top of fine clay loam). Acer saccharum-Fagus grandifolia with Tsuga canadensis, also Tilia americana, Ostrya virginiana, and Prunus serotina. Associated sedges include Carex convoluta, C. deweyana, C. laxiflora, C. plantaginea.
