Muddy spot in grassy service lane, assoc. with Polygonum hydropiper; surrounded by wet prairie dominated by Spartina pectinata (with Gentiana andrewsii, Rudbeckia subtomentosa, and Salix petiolaris). Area embodied within extensive lowland prairie (900 acres) on huge outwash sand terrace along the Wisconsin River.
