Habitat: Medium-good stand of dry prairie on 5-acre outcrop of St. Peter Sandstone rising 40-50ft. above surrounding terrain. Sandy slopes at base and sides; level but rough adjoining crest at E end. Assoc.: Selaginella rupestris, Koeleria macrantha, Salix humilis, Amorha canescens, Lechea stricta, L. tenuifolia, Arctostaphylos uva-ursi ssp. coactilis, Aster linariifolius, A. sericeus, Helin\\anthus occidentalis, Solidago nemoralis.
