Habitat: Edge of open wetland at bottom of roadbank. Medium-textured soil, full sun. With Phalaris arundinacea, Clematis virginiana, Onoclea sensibilis, Ulmus americana saplings, Acer rubrum, Rhus typhina, and Fraxinus nigra.. Small, 4-stemmed tree, the largest 18 cm dbh. (GLIFWC, WIS)
