Habitat: Transition area between wet woods to south and open sedge wetland to north. Mucky organic soil, nearly full sun. With low Alnus rugosa and Cornus rugosa, and scattered Abies balsamea and Fraxinus nigra. Also Calamagrostis canadensis, Carex lacustris, Glyceria canadensis, Equisetum fluviatile, Iris versicolor, Potentilla palustre, and Smilacina trifolia. Pteridium aquilinum and Osmunda regalis on slightly higher spots nearby.
