Habitat: In transitional area from sedge meadow/marsh to dry upland. Upland canopy consists of Pinus strobus, Quercus velutina, Populus tremuloides, and Acer rubrum. Growing with Spirea tomentosa, Rubus hispidus, Sphagnum sp., Scirpus cyperinus, Calamagrostis canadensis, Betula papyrifera, Betula pumila, Hypericum kalmii, Juncus canadensis, Juncus greenii, Juncus brevicaudatus, Carex debilis, Carex cumulata, and Rhynchospora capitellata.
