Habitat: Cold spring-fed calcareous(?) seepage bogs and meadows in wet Thuja occidentalis-Populus spp., Acer spp. woods, on N-facing slope. Extensive Thuja woods, more or less dense shade with Tsuga canadensis, Abies balsamea, Picea glauca, Acer spicatum, Rubus parviflorus, Actaea rubra, Carex pedunculata, Ledum groenlandicum, Vaccinium Oxycoccus (rare), Dentaria diphylla, Mertensia paniculata. 1m. tall flowers white.
