Habitat:
Mouth if creek. [Occasional specimens certainly approach one another, to such an extent that it is somteimes almost impossible to identify a specimen using leaf-surface and leaf margin vesture that is depended upon so much. For example, compare Kunz 209, whose leaf margins are stellate-pilose and copiously scabrous, with the right-hand plant of Lapham s.n. in "Sept. 1958" (both WIS), whose leaves at equivalent nodes are identical but was named H. scabriusculum Schwein.
