Georeference Remarks:
Latitude/Longitude was derived from the Township, Range, Section location. This causes an imprecision.
Habitat:
Thin oak woods on hills, fairly undisturbed but quite young. [This specimen is problematic and maybe a hybrid (Q. x palaeolithicola Trelease). The loose acorn caps scales and canescent endbuds indicate Q. velutina, but the caps are glabrous to sparsely kinky-pubescent within, typical of Q. ellipsoidalis in the upper Midwest, and endbuds are not strongly angled in cross-section. - A.L. Hipp, 2007]
