Habitat: Dry prairie on steep, sandy, W-facing road cut. Assoc.: side oats, sand dropseed, partridge pea, and western ragweed. A second clump (not collected) was observed very nearby. It was growing on level sandy soil in full sunlight with Bromus inermis, Dactylis glomerata, and Heliopsis helianthoides.
