Habitat: Wet-mesic prairie; assoc.: Spartina pectinata-dominant, Agropyron sp., Spiranthes cernua, Zizia aptera, Blephilia ciliata, Pycnanthemum virginianum, Agalinis purpurea, and many Compositae, including Aster ericoides, A. novae-angliae,. Helianthus grosseserratus, Silphium laciniatum, Solidago nemoralis, and S. ohioensis. Wis. DNR Habitat Preservation Area, recovering agricultural land that has been in public ownership for ca. 50 years, grazed before then. Variable landscape with pockets and patches of prairies, fens, sedge meadows, and wet thickets. Some collected lvs. from the same plant as the flowering stem, some from a non-flowering clump very nearby. Sheet 5 of 5.
