Habitat: Medium-good stand of dry prairie on 5-acre outcrop of St. Peter Sandstone rising 40-50ft. above surrounding terrain. Small cliffs and ledges and sandy slopes at base and sides. Assoc.: Potentilla arguta, Prunus americana, P. pumila, Amorpha canescens, Celastrus scandens, Tephrosia virginiana, Euphorbia corollata, Parthenocissus inserta, Gnaphalium obusifolium, Helianthus occidentalis.
