A spring-fed, peat-filled natural drainage basin containing a small lake and ca. 50 acres of marsh & fen. Alkaline southern sedge meadow from seeps and springs at base of a glacial ridge, dominated by Carex stricta, w/ C. sterilis, C. prairea, C. tetanica, Muhlenbergia glomerata, Sphenopholis intermedia, Lathyrus palustris var. myrtifolius, Chelone glabra, Lycopus americanus, grading into wet fen.
