Habitat: Dry W-facing prairie on gravelly dolomite hilltop. On crest with Andropogon scoparius, Pedicularis canadensis, Viola, Aster ptarmicoides. BER. Not rare, but undercollected. Musselman and I have taken it on every dry prairie... Like Spiranthes cernua and Aster ptarmicoides, occasionally found in fens... --T.S. Cochrane, May 1974 (more information on label).
