Habitat: Wet flat depression (acidic swale) between 2 beach ridges, resembling a semi-open bog. Groundlayer with Sphagnum moss and this sp. dominant; with Calopogon pulchellus common. With Osmunda cinnamomea,. Panicum acuminatum var. fasciculatum, C. oligosperma, C. lasiocarpa, C. cephalantha, Iris versicolor, Drosera intermedia, D. rotundifolia, Acer rubrum seedlings, Triadenum fraseri, Andromeda glaucophylla, Vaccinium macrocarpon, V. angustifolia.
