Habitat:
Highly disturbed, grassy muddy ground, actively and heavily grazed by a herd of horses that apparently goes out into the water. With Artemisia artemisiifolia, Bidens cernua, Echinochloa crusgalli, Cyperus engelmannii, Polygonum hydropiper, Amaranthus,. little if anything else. Culms very unequal in length, but short ones more numerous than usual, and all are decumbent. The habit is thus suggestive of a different species (it reminds me of E. intermedia), especially when compared with 13188, with which
