Growing in an exposed wet sandy ditch which extends for 100 ft. and occurred over a stretch of 30-40 ft. The shallow. ditch is located on either side of the N-S road. It was apparently formed by bulldozing the scant rock and sand debris overlying the bedrock when the rock was constructed. Perhaps brought in by Coast Guard ship visiting the station on the island.
