Habitat: Large bluff prairie on calcareous substrate, little disturbed. Excellent bluff prairie along river, with Aster ptarmicoides, A. sericeus, A. ericoides, Helianthus occidentalis, Salix humilis, Prunus pumila, Bouteloua hirsuta, B. curtipendula, Solidago. rigida, S. nemoralis, Andropogon gerardii, A. scoparius, Sorghastrum nutans, Scutellaria leonardii, Amorpha canescens, Baptisia leucophaea, Comandra umbellata, Sporobolus heterolepis, Potentilla arguta, Euphorbia corolatta, Spiranthes cernua, Liatris
