Habitat: Large virgin wet-mesic prairie, quite flat w/ seasonally flooded shallow depressions, surrounded by ag lands on all sides. Soil: dark-colored loam with sandy, clayey loam subsoil and a large amount of organic matter. Assoc.:. Sphenopholis intermedia, Koeleria macrantha, Lysimachia quadriflora, Geum aleppicum var. strictum, Rosa arkansana var. suffulta (abundant), Zizia aptera, Z. aurea, Pycnanthemum virginianum, Asclepias sullivantii, Galium boreale ssp.
