Habitat: Actively pastured (ruined) river bottom sedge meadow, grading sharply at waters edge into Narrow zone of muddy wet marsh, including a small bed of emergent and floating-leaved species on a deep water side. Soil: fairly raw mucky peat; water: plentiful even during dry part of summer. Assoc.: Cyperus diandrus, C. strigosus, Eleocharis erythrodpoda, Polygonum hydropiper, Penthorum sedoides, Lycopus americanus, Mentha arvensis var. glabrata, Mimulus ringens, Galium trifidum, & Bidens cernua.
