Habitat: Southern mesic forest (Acer saccharum dom., w/ (in decreasing order of importance) Tilia americana, Quercus borealis, Ostrya virginiana, Ulmus rubra, Fraxinus americana, Carya cordiformis), with carpets of spring flowers and canopy trees of medium age.. Good quality 60-acre stand over late Cambrian (not quartzite) formations.
